Cellebrite Advanced Smartphone Analysis (CASA)

The CASA course focuses on investigating common smartphones. This course teaches how to decode data not supported by standard forensic tools. It also uses third-party tools and Python scripts to analyse and verify findings. Forensic recovery of application data from SQLite databases is looked at.

TARGETED AUDIENCE

The course is aimed at technical researchers. Despite not being compulsory, it is strongly recommended to complete the Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) course first. By the end of the course, students will be able to independently conduct research on modern smartphones including iPhones, Android phones and Windows Mobile devices.

STUDY LOAD

The student spends 5 days, 8 hours per day, on this course and does not need to apply any self-study outside the class days.

STUDY MATERIALS

The student will receive a textbook which becomes the student's property at the end of the course.

QUALIFICATIONS

There is a practical exam at the end of this course. If these are successfully completed then the CASA certificate will be awarded, if the exam is not completed (or not taken) then the student will receive a Certificate of Participation.
